Mission

THE POWELL RIVER & DISTRICT AGRICULTURAL ASSOCIATION
is a registered non-profit society.

It was created in 1995 with the purpose of supporting sustainable agriculture in the region.

The association administers the annual Fall Fair and the local Open Air Market.

The association is run by its members through a volunteer board of directors.
There are 3 paid positions: Association Administrator, Fall Fair Organizer, and Market Coordinator.

The association’s activities are funded through membership fees, proceeds from the Fall Fair and the Open Air Market, and community-based fund-raising efforts.

The association supports small scale farming with a focus on non-commercial values, including education, inclusion and community. It also works in partnership with other agricultural organizations and community groups to improve access for all to safe, nutritious, local food.
